ABOUT US
Les Entreprises Pitre, berry grower since 2016.
OUR STORY
It all began in 2016 with the purchase of a 125-acre market garden property in the municipality of Lac-des-Écorces, located in the Upper Laurentians. This initial acquisition was a family gift, enabling the three Pitre brothers – Jérémie, Jonathan, and Olivier – to bring their shared dream of starting their own farming business to life. What started as a dream quickly became a family project, with the involvement of their parents – Michel and Michelle – who contributed their financial, technical, and expert resources.
In the winter of 2017, the family acquired a neighboring farm, comprising 160 acres of market garden land as well as infrastructure, tractors, and farm equipment. This addition marked the real beginning of the market gardening operations, providing a solid foundation to launch the business.
Over the following years, the group acquired additional market garden land and invested in new equipment to support its growth, which led to partnerships with major food retailers like Costco and Metro.
With a focus on integrating increasingly sustainable farming practices, over 20 hectares of tunnels were installed in 2023 and 2024 to cultivate strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries above ground.
Pitre is a family business that now has a team of over 700 employees!
